Study abroad.

Reflect here.

We connect Iraqi private universities with academic partners across Europe, and build the exchange programmes that let students study abroad and bring what they learn home.

Above, where you start. Below, where you could study.

A first for Iraq

The first initiative dedicated to connecting Iraq's private universities with academic partners across Europe.

  • Built only for Iraq's private universities.
  • Academic partners across Europe, matched to your faculties.
  • With you from the first meeting to the returning graduate.

What we build

Programmes that move people, credits and ideas.

Every programme is built for one Iraqi university and one European partner, so it fits both timetables and both sets of rules.

Semester exchange

Students spend a term at a European partner, and their credits count at home.

Staff and faculty mobility

Lecturers teach and train abroad, and European colleagues come to teach in Iraq.

Summer schools

Short, intensive programmes that give students their first experience of Europe.

Joint research and degrees

Shared projects, joint supervision and double-degree pathways.

How it works

From the first meeting to the flight home.

Four steps, from every corner of Iraq to the capitals of Europe.

  1. 01

    Match

We learn your faculties and goals, then introduce European universities that fit.

  2. 02

    Agree

We draft the agreement with you, align courses and credits, and set clear, published programme fees.

  3. 03

    Prepare

Students are selected on published criteria and prepared for language, visas and life abroad.

  4. 04

    Return

Credits are recognised at home, and every returning student joins the Alhazen alumni network.

Who it's for

Every exchange has three sides.

  • A team that builds and runs your European partnerships with you.
  • Agreements, credit recognition and programme fees set up alongside your international office.
  • A clear international pathway to show students and parents.

Our principles

Independent advice

An advisory board of academics from Iraq and Europe guides our decisions.

Open process

Written agreements and published selection criteria for every programme.

Built to last

Partnerships designed to run for years, cohort after cohort.

Why Alhazen

Named after a scholar whose book crossed from Iraq to Europe.

Ibn al-Haytham was born in Basra around 965. His Book of Optics was translated into Latin, and Europe knew him as Alhazen. A thousand years later, we are opening that route again for students.

The mark

Three shapes, one journey.

Bring your university across.
